Week 28

We had another dr's appointment today. It getting closer and closer! We're so excited! I had to go for a glucose screening test where I had to drink a super sweet syrup, wait an hour and get 2 vials of blood drawn to be tested for gestational diabetes. Other than that, baby's doing great. Had a strong heartbeat and I measure 30cm now. 4 weeks ago, I measured at 25cm. He's growing very fast. Still kicking and moving alot.

This week's going to be very busy for me. There's 2 baby showers going on this week, which I'm really looking forward to. I've already picked out what I'm going wear. I hope I still fit them! It seems like my stomach's getting bigger everyday. We are very blessed. 1 of the shower is thrown by this group of very nice elderly ladies at the church whom I use to hang out and make crafts with or learn some crafting techniques from. They are getting us a baby crib, mattress and bedding. The other shower is going to be thrown by the pastor's wife at a tea place called tea @ 1024 . I've only been there once with a girlfriend but I love that place. You get to pick out the tea cup you are going to use, have a variety of teas to choose from and they serve little sandwiches, scones, chocolate cups and little brownies. I'm so glad to have a shower there. It's such a nice little place.

It is absolutely very sweet of these ladies to throw a shower for me. We're very blessed.

Week 24

Each week is passing so fast. We had a dr's appt yesterday and another ultrasound today. It looked so different from the last ultrasound. The baby grew so much! He filled in a little more than when we saw him 4 weeks ago. He gained a lb since the last ultrasound. He's 1 lb 10 ounces now. He looked so cramped in there, I felt so sorry for him! His little hands were right up to his face, his feet were so adorable! When the ultrasound technician was trying to get a better view of his feet and was pushing the transducer a littler harder at the area where his feet was, he gave 2 strong kicks. It was so funny to see his little feet kicking on the screen. Now I know how it looks whenever he kicks me. This time she didn't capture as good a picture of him than the last technician. There was a part when she managed to capture his face for a brief moment and what i saw, it's so hard to describe. It only hit me at that moment that we're having a baby! The last ultrasound he hid his face and he was more skeletal looking, so it was hard to get a good look at his face. But in that moment when i saw his face on the screen, my heart just jumped. It's real!! We're having a baby!! LOL!

Apparently, from now til birth, he's gonna gain about 6 ounces a week! My back's already feeling the extra weight, and I can feel i'm walking different to compensate for the extra weight in the front.

He's kicking so much now. I can feel him wiggling around quite often and sometimes feel his knee or elbow pressing into my side as he moves by which kinda hurt for a brief moment.

We're so excited that it's coming closer and closer. It seems like this year went by in a flash!

Week 20

Nothing much happening this week. Still feeling really excited over the ultrasound where we got to see the baby. The next ultrasound is scheduled in a month's time. Can't wait to see the little guy again! Dr said the baby's doing really well. He sure have a really strong heartbeat like his mom! Originally the baby was due on 11/13, but based on the growth of the baby, it seems like he may arrive couple days earlier, on the 11/11. That'll be pretty neat. It'll be the same birthday as my dad's.

I'm feeling the baby move a whole lot more. Especially when I'm about to go to sleep. He's a little kicker. I love it though. Feeling him move is assuring to me as i know he's ok.

My tummy's poking out more and more each week. It just amazes me how much your stomach can grow. When I look at the pictures i've taken at 8, 12, 16 weeks, it's just amazing. Sometimes when I look in the mirror, i feel so fat. But I just have to tell myself that i'm pregnant, i'm not fat. It sure don't help when people tell you, "Wow, your tummy's so big! or your stomach's bigger than mine now!" Like duhh..there's a baby in there for goodness sake!
But Jonathan and my dear friends have been such a big encouragement to me. Thank you guys!! Everytime I feel so lousy, they're always there lifting me up and encouraging me.

Well, I'm halfway there. 20 more weeks to go and we'll see him. I finally got my baby registry done. There's so much stuff out there its mind boggling what to get and what you really need. Even picking a stroller is a pain. There's so many different kinds,different designs, different functions. But God is good and I believe he'll supply our needs.

It's a BOY!!

It's a boy!! The day finally came! I could not sleep last night. I think the both of us had a hard time sleeping. We were so excited about today that it was hard to sleep.

I had to drink alot of water an hour before the ultrasound and it was so hard not to have to go to the bathroom. What's worse, we arrived 10 mins early, but ended up having to wait 35 mins before they saw us. It was terrible. By the time the technician saw us, all I could think of was getting it over with. But halfway through, I could go to the bathroom. So it wasn't so bad in the end.

It was so fun to finally see our little guy! He's perfect!! The technician looked at his brain, the right and left side, his little heart, his stomach and kidney's. his little hands, feet, and when she was measuring his femur bone, I thought I saw that he was a boy. We mentioned to her that we would like to know the gender and she said she'll get to it in awhile. Man, she kept us in suspense for so long! She kept it for the last! haha.. We got a real good look at our little boy and she printed many pictures for us. It was so surreal. By the time we got out of there, an hour and half had passed. He has jonathan's head shape and my lips but that's all we could tell for now. He is the sweetest thing. We saw him putting his thumb up to his mouth, then the other hand up, and at 1 angle, it seemed like he was smiling. He stuck his tongue out like he was trying to lick his lips..It was so cute!!

It's so exciting to finally be able to see him on the screen! We had a feeling it might be a boy and it turned out to be one! Even if it had been a girl, we would have been super stoked about it. We're just so thrilled about having a little baby!!

Week 16

In 2 weeks time, we'll go for an ultrasound and hopefully we'll be able to see the baby's gender! That's gonna be so exciting! I haven't put on any weight yet, which is good. Overall, I've been feeling much better, have more energy in the day and food don't turn me off as they did the last few weeks.

I'm not fitting into my normal clothes anymore but not big enough for maternity clothes. So i'm trying to make whatever still fits last a little longer. So far, I've bought a couple maternity tops. Not many as I didn't care for the style right now. It must be the season as I've not seen any really cute maternity tops as I did in the past. I hope they come out with some really cute tops soon.

I can feel baby moving at times. Not a very strong feeling yet, but just like something's fluttering by. It feels a little strange when baby gives a hard kick or something. Like something rolling in your tummy. But I look forward to those moments. It's so fun. I can spend hours with my hand on my tummy just feeling the movements.

Jonathan's amazing! He can hear the baby's heartbeat when he puts his ear to my tummy! Not all the time depending on the baby's position, but I wish I could hear it too! He could hear it since 3 weeks ago. Each week it gets stronger and stronger and he could hear movements too. Like something moving in water.

I'm so excited about the ultrasound and wish it was tomorrow. It seems like 2 weeks is taking forever to get here!

Week 14

It's been a long couple of weeks. It seemed like the last few weeks were the longest weeks in my life. I've had bad morning sickness from week 9 to 13. Nauseous, giddy spells, migraines and just a yicky feeling in my body. Loss of appetite too which made my nauseous worse. When I don't eat, I get very nauseous but yet I dont't feel like eating. Hopefully, it's all behind me now.

My tummy is pooching out a little. My normal clothes are getting snug around the stomach area. Last weekend, I went for some shopping therapy and bought some cute tops for myself. It's amazing how shopping can make a girl feel so much better! Maternity clothes don't quite fit me yet, but regular clothes in a bigger size and stretchy material works for now.

Can't wait for my next doctor's appt!

Week 10

I have been intending to start this couple weeks ago, but I'm so tired after work everyday, all I want to do is sleep. LOL..

Morning sickness first started on week 6. It would start about 10.30am and last til about 5pm. Nothing I do or eat would ease it except laying down. Food makes me sick, i have no appetite and i'm so tired all the time. That lasted for about 2 weeks. It got worse sometime around week 8. It would last til 9plus at night. Even laying down doesn't help at all. It was miserable. Then it got better sometime around week 9 and I was so much happier. I had more energy, had an appetite, food doesn't make me sick except seafood and I'm always wanting sweet stuff. E.g, Vanilla Shave ice. Lost about 6lbs between week 8 and 10.

Had a doctor's appointment at week 8. The dr did an ultrasound and we saw the baby for the first time. It was really cute. It was hard to kinda see, but you could kinda tell where the head and feet was. We also saw the baby's heart fluttering! It was really neat!
It's 2 more weeks before the next ultrasound and I can't wait! It'll be where we should be able to hear the heartbeat.

Currently at week 10, I have a very sore lower back, hormones going crazy, emotional, feeling yucky, no appetite and really really tired. I cried the other night watching a show where some lady cried. So weird. I get up in the morning feeling great, but by the afternoon, i feel like a truck ran over me. It's really hard to work feeling like that. Just trying to get by each day. I have a little pooch though it's not showing just yet, or it just looks like i ate too much. My normal jeans when buttoned cuts into my stomach, probably coz of the bloating too. I was blessed with some cash to get some maternity jeans and they are so comfortable! So that just about wraps up week 10.
